Crowns, Inlays, and Onlays
Restoring Dental Function and Strength with Custom Crowns
Severely damaged or worn teeth can spoil your smile and compromise your oral health. Dr. Tutin esthetically renews dental integrity with handmade crowns, inlays, and onlays.
A crown, sometimes called a cap, sits snugly atop a weakened tooth to restore form and function and protect it from further harm. Dr. Tutin uses all-ceramic, porcelain-fused-to-metal, and gold crowns. He’ll consider the location of your tooth and the amount of stress it receives to determine which material to use. A custom crown looks, feels, and reflects light like a natural tooth, so no one will notice your restoration, just your stunning smile.
If your tooth doesn’t require a crown but needs more restoration than a filling can provide, Dr. Tutin may suggest an inlay or onlay. Inlays fit within the cusps, or bumps, of a tooth. Onlays fits over one or more bumps.
Custom crowns, inlays, and onlays take two visits to design and place. Following your consultation, we’ll prepare your tooth, take a dental impression, and fit you with a temporary. A skilled ceramist a trusted local lab will hand make your custom restoration to exacting standards. When your dental work is completed, we’ll remove your temporary and permanently affix your custom crown, inlay, or onlay to esthetically restore your smile’s comfort, function, and strength.
