Meet the Team
Dr. Richard Tutin
After receiving his BA from Clark University in 1984, Dr. Tutin obtained his DMD from Tufts University School of Dentistry in 1988. Upon graduating, he engaged in private practice while serving as a clinical research instructor at Tufts. In 1994, Dr. Tutin began bettering the smiles and lives of Framingham residents through comprehensive, quality dental care.

Dr. Tutin is active in many professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, Metropolitan District Dental Society, Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, and Massachusetts Dental Society.

Dr. Valerie Smith
Dr. Valerie Smith has been practicing periodontics since 2000. Originally from Philadelphia, she earned her BA in Psychology from Temple University. She then relocated to Boston to attend Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine earning her DMD degree in 1997. From there she attended the Medical College of Virginia where she earned her Certificate in Periodontics in 2000. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Smith started her own periodontal practice in Northern Virginia outside Washington DC in 2001. After practicing there for 8 years, she decided to move back to Boston. It was a great move and she now resides in downtown Boston.
Dr. Smith is active in several dental societies, including the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society and the Massachusetts Periodontal Society.
Besides having a passion for the field and practice of periodontology, Dr. Smith is also current in the practice of dental implant placement and bone augmentation procedures.
When she is not helping patients, she enjoys travelling and working in her community garden.
Dr. Paulina Muller
Dr. Paulina Muller grew up in Massachusetts and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, with a minor in Anthropology, from Brandeis University in 2008. She went on to graduate from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine with a D.M.D. in 2012.
Dr. Muller brings her comprehensive dental experience to our practice. She enjoys keeping abreast in the latest dental research and attends numerous continuing education courses. She is an active member of the American Dental Association and Massachusetts Dental Society.
Dr. Muller enjoys being outdoors, playing with her dog, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. Dr. Muller speaks English, Russian and Spanish.
“I love working with people and helping them achieve their optimal oral health goals,” says Dr. Muller. “It makes me happy to make people feel good and have a beautiful and healthy smile.”
Dr. Joe Carew
Dr. Carew received a BS from Stonehill College in 1986. He then attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and earned his D.M.D. degree in 1990. At that time he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society. Dr. Carew then practiced general dentistry for several years before pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate in Endodontics. He completed the program at Temple University School of Dentistry in 1995. Dr. Carew is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society and the South Shore District Dental Society. In his free time, Dr. Carew enjoys golf, reading, travel, and spending time with his wife and children.
